Myanmar junta does not allow men to work abroad

Myanmar’s junta government

does not allow any man old enough to join the army to travel abroad. They are not even allowed to work outside the country. Recently, there has been an increase in the trend of fleeing the country among men of all ages, including young men in Myanmar.

The military junta took this step to prevent the migration of men.

On Thursday, authorities said they would also suspend the process of obtaining work permits abroad. That is, no man can apply to work abroad from Myanmar.

There are large numbers of Myanmarese

Expatriates in other Asian countries. Earlier, locals were allowed to go abroad to get jobs. However, the military junta gave this ban due to the increasing civil war in the country.

After several months of fighting, the junta government-imposed forced conscription in February. In the following three months, about 100,000 men applied for work permits abroad.

It is understandable how men are increasingly inclined to leave Myanmar.

Young people have previously expressed their frustration about leaving the country in the media. Most of this list consists of men between the ages of 18 and 35 and women between the ages of 18 and 27.

Analysts believe that the ban on working

Abroad represents a major blow. Many Myanmarese have gone to work in countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.

A 32-year-old man was preparing to go to Japan. He told BBC Burmese: (Everyone) has lost hope for the future. There is no job opportunity in the country. Now, they (the military junta) have prevented us from leaving the country.  click here for more information
