At least 20 people, including five policemen, were injured in a clash between the two sides over distribution of rice to fishermen in the Lakshmipur Model Union in Chandpur Sadar upazila.

At around 8 pm on Friday. In this incident, on Saturday afternoon, the police named 39 people as plaintiffs and a case was registered against several unknown persons. The campaign is underway.
Eyewitness Habibur Rahman, a member of Ward No. 7 of the Lakshmipur Model Union, said that rice was distributed to four and a half thousand cardholders of the union.
At that time, it was not possible to give rice to 40 to 50 fishermen from Ward No. 6 and 7 due to rice shortage.
It is for this reason,
on the orders of current UP President Salim Khan, that rice distribution was announced. Jasim Khan, son of former UP president Mana Khar, then led an attack with other poachers there.
The police fired 26 live bullets to control the situation. At that time, police officer C Maqbool Hussain and five other personnel were injured in the attack.
After that, at least 20 people from both sides were injured in several rounds of clashes between the two sides.
